What is a SteerCo deck?
A SteerCo deck is the recurring presentation taken into a steering committee meeting. It reports program or portfolio status to the sponsors who control funding, scope, and priority, and it typically covers progress, risks, issues, decisions needed, and what changed since the last meeting. SteerCo is short for steering committee.
The deck exists because the committee does not live in the delivery tooling. That is also why it is expensive to produce: the data is in ServiceNow, the audience is in a conference room, and someone spends the day before the meeting moving one into the other.
A good SteerCo deck opens with the decisions being asked for, not with a status summary. If the committee leaves without deciding anything, the meeting was a readout.
