What is a demand review?

A demand review is the recurring meeting where incoming demands, the requests for new work, are assessed and dispositioned: approved into the portfolio, deferred, or declined. In ServiceNow SPM, demands carry the data the meeting needs, including estimated cost, effort, value, risk, and strategic alignment.

The failure mode is familiar. The demand data is in ServiceNow, but the review runs off a spreadsheet someone exported and sorted, so the decisions made in the room never make it back to the record. The next review starts from a new spreadsheet.

A demand review works when the list in the meeting is the list in the system, ranked by the criteria the organization actually agreed to use.
