What is a pre-CAB?

A pre-CAB is the working session held before the Change Advisory Board meets. Upcoming change requests are screened for completeness, risk, scheduling conflicts, and missing approvals, so the CAB itself can spend its time on the changes that genuinely need a decision rather than on chasing incomplete records.

Pre-CAB is where change quality is actually enforced. A change that arrives at CAB without a tested back out plan or with an unresolved conflict should have been caught here.

The reporting problem is timing. The screening view has to reflect the change schedule as it stands that morning, which is why a static export prepared the night before tends to be wrong by the time the meeting starts.
